The story behind Weblux
No investor story, no buzzword bingo. Just a young technician from Styria who was tired of watching small businesses either get ripped off over their website or go without one altogether.
From frustration to my own company
I grew up in Allerheiligen bei Wildon, in the middle of Styria, and learned at HTBLA Kaindorf how to really build software, not just click it together. Since September 2022 I've been an apprentice at KNAPP AG, a Styrian industrial group, focusing on app development and Python. There I saw how professional software gets made when people know what they're doing.
At the same time, I saw among people I know what it looks like for small businesses: the plumber with no website because he'd been quoted €4,000, the hairdresser with a website-builder page nobody has touched in three years because she has no time for it. There was a huge gap between what is technically possible and what actually reaches small businesses.
On the side, I taught myself what modern AI can really do, among other things with “CS50's Introduction to Artificial Intelligence” from Harvard and a machine learning course from Stanford. At some point it was clear: the tools to build professional websites in days instead of months, at a price a small business can afford, have been around for a while. Nobody had used them consistently for the little ones yet.
The name came quickly: Weblux, “web” plus the Latin word for light, with the lynx as its emblem, known for its especially sharp eyesight. Weblux sees clearly where others only see a blur. In summer 2026 I turned it into a real company, based in Styria, and deliberately small and personal rather than anonymous.
HTBLA Kaindorf
A higher technical college with an IT focus, the foundation for everything that followed.
Since September 2022: apprenticeship at KNAPP AG
Hands-on software and app development at a large Austrian industrial group, not theory from a lecture hall.
Harvard & Stanford courses on the side
Targeted AI training alongside the apprenticeship, to understand what is really possible today, and what isn't.
Summer 2026: Weblux is founded
Practical experience and AI know-how become a company of its own, based in Styria and focused on all of Austria.
The values I work by
Nothing lofty, just what people in Styria mean by a decent business partner.
Honesty over sales talk
No exaggerated promises, no hidden costs. If a simple website builder is enough for you, I'll tell you so honestly.
A handshake means something
An appointment is an appointment, a promise is a promise. That's how I was raised, and that's how I run Weblux.
Down to earth, not big talk
No corporation, no marketing department, no buzzword bingo. Solid work at a price that suits a business from the neighbourhood.
Personal responsibility
If something isn't right, you contact me, not an anonymous ticket system abroad. I stand behind it with my name.
“I didn't want to keep watching the craft business round the corner either have no website at all or pay thousands of euros for something it no longer understands afterwards. That's exactly where Weblux came from.”
